Vice Documentary Inside the Superhuman World of the Iceman

Uncategorized

Wim Hof first caught the attention of scientists when he proved he was able to use meditation to stay submerged in ice for 1 hour and 53 minutes without his core body temperature changing. Since then, he’s climbed Mount Everest in his shorts, resisted altitude sickness, completed a marathon in the Namib Desert with no water and proven under a laboratory setting that he’s able to influence his autonomic nervous system and immune system at will.

Kas ir Wim Hof Metode?

Aukstums , Elpošana , Nervu sistēma , Wim Hof , Zinātne

Metodes vēsture?

Latvijā metode ir ienākusi no Nīderlandes, kur dzīvo tās aizsācējs un daudzu pasaules aukstuma rekordu īpašnieks gan individuāli, gan grupās Vims Hofs. Pasaulē viņu pazīst ar vārdu The Iceman — ledusvīrs. 2011. gadā kopā ar zinātniekiem tika īstenots pirmais pētījums, kura laikā atklājās, ka Vims Hofs spēj ietekmēt savu veģetatīvo nervu sistēmu. Tas arī bija pamudinājums popularizēt metodi pasaulē. 2013. gadā tika nolemts, ka šī metode ir jāpadara pieejama visiem, un tika izveidoti vienkārši posmi, lai katrs to var praktizēt un izmantot, līdzīgi kā to darīja metodes autors, trenējot savu ķermeni un prātu. Pašlaik metodes autori turpina aktīvi strādāt kopā ar zinātniekiem Nīderlandē, pētot metodes ietekmi uz dažādām dzīvesveida izraisītām slimībām.

Dr. Rhonda Patrick interviews Wim Hof

Dr. Rhonda Patrick interviews Wim Hof also known as the “Iceman.” Wim holds the world record for the longest ice bath (1 hour and 53 minutes and 12 seconds), just to name one of his many impressive feats. Dr. Patrick and Wim talk a bit about Wim’s back story that culminated in him trying out cold water immersion, the relatively recent 2014 scientific publication of the “Wim Hof Method” which includes cold exposure during training, exposure to bacterial endotoxin, Wim’s breathing techniques, and meditation (http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/24…).
